Baccarat rules

You bet on the banker or the player (you) for every hand. The winner is the person who scores closest to the number 9.
If there is a tie, bets on the banker or player are returned. Once a bet has been placed, there are no opportunities for further decisions — both the banker hand and the player hand are dealt according to fixed rules, resulting in final hands of either two or three cards for each.

A hand’s score is the right digit of the sum of the two cards. The left digit is canceled – meaning you can’t go over 9. So, a 3 and a 4 is scored as a 7. But with a 6 and a 7, you cancel the the 1 (from the total of 13) and your score is 3. A pair of 5’s is scored as a zero.
The highest total can only be a maximum of 9.
Baccarat rules for the player hand are as follows: If the player’s first two cards total 6 or more, then the player must stand without drawing a card. If the player’s first two cards total 5 or less, the player must draw one additional card.
The rules for the banker hand are a bit different, and this is what gives the online casino its edge (also called the house edge).
If the banker’s first two cards total 7 or more, then the banker is required to stand – they can’t draw another card. If the banker’s first two cards total 0, 1, or 2, then the banker has to draw one card.
How to play Baccarat
Like most online casino card games, in Baccarat you’ve got a dealer – in this case, the “Banker” and you, the Player. You place bets on either the “player,” the “banker” or the “tie”, so you won’t be needing to battle wits with other players at the same time. Once your bet is in, you and the Banker will each get two baccarat cards from a shoe (multiple decks in one collection of cards), face-up. You can check to make sure how many decks are in the shoe. Aces mean 1 point, while twos through nines are at face value (the number on the card). Tens and face cards are worth zero points.
The dealer distributes two cards to himself for the “banker” hand and then two cards to the player.
Suits don’t matter in Baccarat, so you can just focus on the numbers.
The hand with a higher score wins. If you bet on the player – usually you! – it pays even money. Bets on banker pay 19 to 20, or .95 to 1. This allows the casino to retain a slight edge over time. Bets on the banker and the player push in the event of a tie.
